Awkwafina

Awkwafina is an American actor and musician. She started by releasing funny, well-written rap songs that addressed topics like race as well as sexual orientation. Then she expanded her audience to Hollywood. Nora Lum is the daughter of Chinese as well as Korean parents from Forest Hills Queens. The trumpet was the first instrument she played for her. In addition to classical and jazz, she started to study hip-hop during her teens. Concentrating on school she majored in journalism, and women's studies, and was taking classes in Mandarin in Beijing for a time. After graduating, it wasn't until that she shifted her focus to music. The song My Vag, a response track to Mickey Avalon's My Dick gained viral popularity through the Internet in the year 2012. It eventually made it in her first album Yellow Ranger released in 2014. The album also featured viral hit tracks like body positive Queef & winking home tour NYC Bitche$. The latter track connected directly into another venture Awkwafina's NYC a travel guide published in 2015. After a successful career as a singer and songwriter, she decided to take on the character of actress. She has appeared in films like Neighbors 2 Storks, and Bad Rap. In 2018 she was able to land major roles in a variety of high-profile movies like Dude Ocean's Eight and Crazy Rich Asians. The EP debuted in June.
